Italian fashion house Marni transformed a space at Salone del Mobile 2017 into a playland. Reflecting on the concept of play, the brand invites the public to interact with the items on display and relinquish any predetermined rules or expectations.
The space, set on a backdrop of brightly coloured sand, features toys, storage containers and furniture sculptures redefining traditional playground equipment such as basketball hoops and swings. Hand crafted from metal, painted wood and woven coloured PVC cord, the shapes play with proportions that challenge conventional ratios. Each piece has been made especially for Milan by a group of Columbian women who use traditional weaving techniques.
The products displayed can be bought with part of the proceeds going to the Only The Brave Foundation, owned by OTB group they support numerous charitable institutions, reiterating the brand’s commitment to children charity initiatives.
